The mission of the Center for Oil Shale Technology and Research is to integrate efforts in scientific and engineering research related to development and production of hydrocarbons from oil shale; to conduct research on oil shale deposits, properties of oil shale, and technical approaches to measurement of oil shale productivity, and to facilitate the annual Oil Shale Symposium, which is intended to serve as the leading venue for exchange of ideas and information on the global oil shale enterprise.
